First of all, I hope Dawn McVey and her husband, Bart, had a wonderful time on their trip to Hawaii. And Dawn was so on the ball that she set up all these posts to be ready for her blog when she was gone. And one of the posts was her color challenges. And of course I had to enter, and I love the colors. Blue and brown look so great together, elegant is a word that comes to mind.
This is just a simple card but filled with one of my favorite techniques, heat embossing. I heat embossed the background screenprint and the butterfly. Not only is heat embossing nice looking on cards and scrapbook pages, it is also so fun to do. At least I love doing it, not sure how everyone else feels about it. To finish off the card, I thought it needed a little something else and so I hand drew the frame around the screenprint background and added a few pearls.
Supplies:
cardstock - Stampin Up!
stamps - Hero Arts, Papertrey Ink (sentiment)
journaling card - Jillibean Soup
pearls - Hero Arts
pen - Signo Uniball
ink - Memento
border punch - EK Success
This is gorgeous! I love how simple you kept it... It doesn't need anything else! Simply beautiful!
