Kristina Werner Color Inspiration #55

I feels like it has been a while since I have done Kristina's challenge, but I really have only missed the one in the last 8 or so. And that was last week's challenge. I really wish I could have gotten to that challenge because the colors were awesome, but I lucked out this week with colors that are just as great.

The colors for this week remind me of simple elegance. In my mind I imagined a card with just enough color to draw the eye but not too much color to keep the design simple. And then I added the scalloped edge to the bottom of the card to add a touch of elegance. I was just happy I had an orangish ink color to do the sentiment.

Kristina Werner Color Inspiration # 53

Well, I didn't know how this card would work out being all black as a background, but I'm happy with it. It is certainly different than I have ever done before. I'm not sure I have EVER done a black card. When I saw these colors, I instantly thought of a rainbow. At first I was going to put the background white, but then I thought, wow, the colors would really pop on a black background and so I went with it. To incorporate the white and to tie it all together I drew the outline stitches in.

Don't these colors spark images of a summer cottage off the beach? Beautiful colors and it was fun working with them.
I wish you could see this card in person, it doesn't seem to photograph well. I wish I knew my computer better to edit this picture and make it look as nice as it does in person.

Loving the new stars stamps set by Papertrey Ink.

It took me no time to make this card. I'm not sure if it is the simplicity of it or just the fact that I loved working with these colors so much that it took no time for ideas to pop in my head. Such cool, summertime colors and images of a day at the beach strolling along the boardwalk. Mmmm, now saltwater taffy is sounding pretty good.

Not only are these colors awesome but THIS new stamp set from Papertrey Ink is pretty awesome as well. Stars might be one of my favorite shapes to stamp. Love 'em. This month could have been Papertrey Ink's best new release so far.

Kristina Werner Color Inspiration #51

Hi! I have another card for you for color inspiration #51. I love the look of these colors together. I think they go good for preteen and teen girls. They are bold and beautiful colors and it shouts girl power to me. :) And because of that, I made this card with a special girl in mind who has a birthday coming up.

The butterfly on this card was done by heat embossing in white on brown cardstock and then I went back and filled in the hearts on the butterfly with cinnamon stickles to make them shine and sparkle. Every girl loves a little sparkle, right? The card itself was cut out with my Cricut using the storybook cartridge. Love all the different shapes in that cartridge, a must have for scrapbookers or cardmakers.

Wow. The big 5-0. I only wish I could have done all the color challenges but when you just start out as a lurker and don't actually post a card until the challenges are in the 40's, I have no one but myself to blame. Shame on me because I love these challenges and they bring out the best in me every week.

Hi all. Here for another color inspiration challenge. I really had to make this card quick because I found out we were leaving soon to go to Easter with my husband's family and I knew I wouldn't be back in time to post this later. So, this card was made in less than 30 minutes. Not bad. It usually takes me a little longer.

But anyway, love the colors again for this week. They are so bold and I am loving that.

Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #48

I'm back again for another great color challenge by Kristina. I know this card seems really long and short, but I just thought I would try something different. The card fits in a standard letter size envelope so at least I don't have to make an envelope to go with it.

I thought I would break out the Guide Lines 2 stamp set again. How can you not love a stamp set that you can use for a background for any color inspiration challenges? My difficulty is which great stamp to use on the grid because you get a lot of them.

I made this card for my son. He just gave my husband and I an award for the greatest parents so that definitely requires a custom made card for him to keep. He is always drawing me stuff and giving me awards and he asked me the other day to make a card just for him. So, here it is. Thanks, Zachy. And you know what, he went and hung my card up right away on his door, I guess he liked it.

Hi all. I didn't make the deadline for this weeks color inspiration due to being gone, but I still made a card anyway. I'm a sucker for warm, fall colors and so I had to do the challenge. And thanks to my new Guide Lines 2 stamp set from Papertrey Ink, it sure was fun making this card. I love this stamp set because you can create your own custom paper to fit any of your needs. There are so many circular design elements to choose from this set that the possibilities are endless.

Kristina Werner Color Inspiration #46

Hi all. I am back for another color inspiration and I am loving this weeks colors. I am always a fan of throwing in black with soft colors because it just makes everything pop. And it was the black that inspired this card that I made. I thought the black petals of the flower help it to stand out and draw your eye to the main focal point of the card, the flower itself. With it being spring now, all I can think about is flowers and I wanted to incorporate that into this card. Thanks for taking a look and I can't wait for next weeks color inspiration.

Kristina Werner Inspiration Challenge #45

Here's another color challenge for this week. At first I thought this was going to be hard not having a real focal color pop out at me, but it ended up being pretty easy. When I saw these colors I instantly thought of classy, elegant, weddings, anniversaries, etc. I ran with those thoughts and created a card that can either be used as a wedding or anniversary card. Although this is not a color combo I would use a lot, I will be using more of this combo in the future for any cards I make to give them an elegant feel.

Color Inspiration #44

This may be Kristina's 44th color inspiration challenge, but it is only my second post. I am addicted now and I truly hope I can keep doing all of these weekly challenges. It brings something new to the table for me and keeps me thinking and creating.

Colors for this week's inspiration.

Having one daughter among three sons, these colors are very appealing. I love anything that looks girly to me.

For this card I had some new Zing embossing powder by American Crafts that I wanted to use and I loved it. The color I used was rose and it worked perfectly for this week's colors. If you love heat embossing, it is worth it to pick up a bottle of their new powders, so many great ones to pick from.

Kristina Werner Color Challenge

I have finally decided to make a card for the Color Challenge by Kristina Werner. Actually I made a card one other time but this will be my first post for her challenge (I posted too late last time). It is so great to have the color inspiration like this because it helps you to look deeper into what you want to create. It can be a challenge sometimes to create something with this many colors hand picked for you, or should I say ones you didn't pick yourself. Thanks for the great challenge Kristina, I hope my creation lives up to it.
